About Neon Quarry Glassworks

My stained glass work is inspired by the urban landscape that surrounds me—its architecture, gardens, hidden details, and the way nature weaves itself into the built environment. While many of my pieces explore botanical themes, they are informed by my background in fine arts and a lifelong fascination with line, pattern, and composition.

I hold a Fine Arts degree with a major in printmaking, and that influence is evident in my approach to glass. I am naturally drawn to graphic imagery, strong lines, and the balance between positive and negative space. Stained glass offers a unique opportunity to work with these elements while adding the transformative qualities of color and light.

As a relatively new glass artist, I continue to discover the medium's endless possibilities. Recently, I have begun exploring traditional glass painting and silk screening on glass, which has expanded my creative vocabulary and opened new avenues for detail, texture, and expression.

What captivates me most about stained glass is its unpredictability. No matter how carefully a piece is planned, there is always an element of surprise. Colors interact differently than expected; some command attention while others quietly support the composition. The true reveal comes only when the work is completed and illuminated.

I am continually fascinated by the way glass changes throughout the day. As the light shifts, so does the artwork, creating an experience that feels alive, dynamic, and ever-changing.
